In a world of Instagram, blogs, social media and a constant bombardment of information, I invite you to Wild Arava, a unique nature adventure in Israel’s magical Arava Desert. Take part in a series of workshops where you can explore a variety of ancient and primitive skills with the hope that the experience will leave you feeling a connection to nature. Our workshops take place out in the Arava Desert and combine your choice of active or stationary activities.
Under the clear blue skies of the desert, take part in a workshop in Flintknapping – the ancient art of tool-making. Learn how our ancestors made fire from only what the earth could offer. Design your own pottery using dyes and materials from the land. With the leaves from indigenous plants and bushes you will learn how to weave their fibers into a rope strong enough for climbing. Our active workshops include Wildlife Tracking and learning to recognize their footprints. You can appreciate the quiet of the desert by joining in our Night Tour and learn the secrets of the wilderness after the sun goes down.
To get a feel for the culture of the desert, we invite you into a spacious and colorful Bedouin tent.

Sial - Wilderness Desert School is a center which preserve the ancient skills, crafts and wisdom which relate to the desert and it's spiritual culture. we strive to reconnect people to the earth through nature literacy and hands-on experience. Our goal is to offer to a diverse audience access to the desert world so that it can become a contributing factor in their lives; one that creates a bond between man and nature.
