Porat Farm, one of the first farms in the Arava, depicts the success story of desert life, beekeeping and the production of honey, agriculture, art and pioneering.
We will tour the open gallery between sculptures by artist Chacha Porat and hear about the founding of the community in the Arava.
We will watch a film of nature on a large screen, telling the fascinating story of bees and the honey making process.
We will visit the Bee Museum where you will learn the secrets of the bees, meet ancient species, and transparent, vibrant beehives that create an impressive, unusual artistic display.
Chacha Sculpture Garden
An enchanting house tour of artist Chacha Porat and her open gallery.
Her works display a variety of subjects such as co-existence, personal experiences, human relations, family and femininity and the great desert where she lives, and serves as her eternal source of inspiration, joy and love of life.
At the end of the tour, guests are invited to the beehive shop, selling an excellent range of craft products and try delicious fresh and tasty honey.
Tours entail a fee and must be booked in advance.
