Yehuda and Tzvia Friedman moved to Moshav Tzofar in the Arava, in 1984 where together they established a family farm. Over the years, as the crops grew (as did the family!) they were harvested and sold in Israel and abroad. In 2014, the family decided to fulfill another dream and they opened a small family winery. The old packaging house, two old refrigerators that remained empty for over a decade, and a basic course in wine making served as the start of their new family project. The grapes they planted came from Mitzpe Ramon, in order to create a unique desert wine that would symbolize the region of the famous and historical Incense Route and the desert, which are an integral part of the family.
Moa Winery is named after the Nabatean Khan located near the moshav on the historical Incense Route, that was a busy roadside inn for travelers to rest from their long journey, dine and drink. Today, this friendly family winery also serves as a pleasant and welcoming place on the Incense Route, for Arava travelers and visitors.
Our visitor center is the perfect place to take a break and enjoy a refreshing glass of unique wine in the heart of the desert.
New at the winery. Friday brunch served between 12:00 to 17:00.
